Our Check In Time - 4pm

Remember, you can request an early check in time (from) 1pm (£35) via your Guest Log In, or please get in touch via email. We will check availability, confirm with you & send over a payment link. These are available on a first-come first served basis.

In the meantime, here are some ideas of what to do ahead of the 4pm check in time. These suggestions are day dependent as to what's open so please remember to double check opening days and times directly with the business.

We also send up a 'monthly round-up' email of monthly 'goings on' in the month you are staying with us - so do look out for that too!
Peppermill Bar & Kitchen
An inviting Bar & Kitchen concept with seasonal menus, tempting cocktails & fine wines. The menu is a build up of predominantly small plates, where sharing is at the forefront, with flavours from our home soil and around the world – ideal for sharing. Lovely large garden & Dog Friendly throughout.
Parking in Buntingford is free for 1.5 hours. Please park in Bowling Green Lane Car Park
Pearces Farmshop Cafe
A lovely farm shop & cafe with lots of choice from local suppliers. The Butchers, Bridget B's, next to it is where we buy all the meat for our Breakfast Boxes and Dine-in Boxes

Hitchin Lavender
Small family run flower farm open in early Summer. Explore the rows of lavender, acres of sunflowers and wild flower meadow. You’re welcome to take a picnic with you, or sample something delicious their new Field Kitchen menu. Your four legged friends are also welcome to enjoy the fields and the network of footpaths all around them.
Alpaca Farm
Yew Tree Alpacas is a rural business based in Anstey, East Hertfordshire based around our own herd of 40 alpacas. Most of our alpacas are home bred. Our 2023 alpaca walking dates are now available to book online.
Please note they are not an open farm, all activities with alpacas are on pre booked dates available to book on their website
Saffron Grange Vineyard
Centuries ago, fields upon fields of crocuses grew across Essex and Suffolk, making Saffron Walden a global centre for Saffron production. Today, the same unique soil that enabled the crocus to flourish here is the key to growing the highest quality grapes that make our premium English sparkling wines.

Their Tasting Room / Shop is open 10-4 Wednesday to Saturday.
Saffron Walden is a lovely medieval town to visit too with an abundance of independent shops and a thriving market on Saturdays.
